I work with a guy who does re-gassing. He will do it for about 60 quid but you will have to bring your car to him in Berkshire for that money.

Check your yellow pages, or I can PM you his number.

 

All I done was topped mine up with the gas canister, obviously you cannot put too much in but thats easily checked with the pressure gauge. I take it mine has no leaks as this was done last june and is still icy cold now. Maybe its not as good as a system clean and refill but it blows out icy cold air, which is what its supposed to do

 

Our old Passat doesnt blow cold at the moment. When we got it last winter I got the service records printed from VW. They said that there was a possible blockage in the AC system.
Can mobile AC companies help with this kind of problem? Or do they only do top ups?

More than likely the condensor is shafted or something like that. I'm sure a mobile company will be able to diagnose the problem and point you in the right direction to get it fixed.
