I think that there are a few people who need to drive the new TT.

I was shocked at how well the 2.0T version drove. However, I think that this was because it was 100% FWD. Not driven the 3.2Q, but always thought that engine was a tad too heavy.

The 2.0T TT drives and feels better than the Golf GTI which is a very good hot hatch.

I agree that it is no S2000 and it's not trying to be, but it is a more involving drivers car than the previous version.

I also think that the 2.0T TT drives much better than the Z4 3.0 too.

I am certainly a snob, its a good skill if used correctly and not abused
abusing it is more fun though

It hasn't been for quite a while, with the new insurance groups it's even more achievable.

I personally don't think there is that much between a TT and an S2000, I drove both back in 2000 and preferred the TT. However, like a lot of people back then, I didn't really get VTEC.

However now, I would still be happy with either but I do much prefer the styling of the S2000.

I saw a group of about 5 sportswear-and-gold-necklace-wearing oiks getting out of a Nogaro Blue (the bright blue) T-Reg S4 Avant the other day.

They seemed to want the attention of the local jailbait lingering near the bins at Guildford McDonalds.

It seems to happen to most cars, sooner or later...

I'd get used to it and stop letting it bother you!

For me they are a classic shape, but they dont compare with an S.

An S2000 is a better car period.

It's that word "better" again.

"Better" than what? "Better" by whose standards and benchmarks?

My guess is that the S2000 is "better" by your requirements, but not necessarily "better" for somebody who has different requirements.

If you have the occasional need to kart a third person around, surely a TT is "better" than an S2000 (even if the rear seats are a bit of a joke).

If you have the need for a roadster with a reasonably large glovebox, surely a TT is "better" than an S2000.

Perhaps you have a requirement for a coupe that is still reassuring when driven in the snow - a TT quattro would be "better" than an S2000.

Or you might want a roadster where you don't have to give it 110% every time you drive, a TT might be "better" than an S2000.

To say "an S2000 is a better car period" is a sweeping generalisation in my opinion.
