The Beater thread
Replaced 2 lower arms, engine and gearbox mounts and removed the anti roll bar - new trackrod ends to fit but the originals are rusted in situ - after a good check for play ... they're manky but not fecked.
Next up ... top mounts.
Enjoyableish but access without a ramp or a pit is a pain - 6 hours all in which isn't too bad.

And tyres, and servicing. Plus I get the impression he's having fun doing the work and not stressing that if he can't put something back together he still has a car for work.
Nail on head Philip
Giff - the S2000 is now on 96k miles, doing 1500 miles a month is literally going to kill it on the commute - i've done the S2000 'only car' thing and it was fun but the cost of fuel, tyres, servicing, depreciation plus wear and tear on the roof and other consumables meant I was unwilling to continue. As it stands, it has reached a value that I am unhappy to decrease further by using it to do something the Fiat does just as well.
Parts are dirt cheap, it's just time really. If circumstances change, I'm'm not stuck with a finance deal on a C1 / iQ / Aygo / Yaris that i don't need. If i decide i do want one of those, this goes in part ex against one.
Top mounts are £30 a pair - i have spring compressors and removing the struts is easy enough now I've cleaned the relevant threads on the bolts and plusgassed everything.
Anyway I've got 3 weeks off work and it's nice to have the time to go and tinker with stuff.
