Bikes and the S

I'm sure bikers also appreciate the high-revving nature of the car and Honda's heritage ...

As long as you don't drive like a c0ck I have always found there is a mutual respect between bikers and sports car drivers out for a b road blast.

And bikers do tend to have a certain knowledge of our "Honda CBR2000s!"
What's amusing about the replies here is that there seems to be amazement at any lack of antagonism/ego etc.
I'll tell you now that bikers rarely bother with cars because they are too slow and I can also assure you that if you thought a biker was having some sport with you, 3 things are apparent:
1. You are delusional
2. The rider isn't very competent
3. He isn't even aware you're trying
Riding with a well driven car is so, so rare and when it does happen, it gets a bit boring after about 2 minutes and you just push on with your spin.
Now who's got the ego? We'll see in the replies shall we? lol

I'd agree that quite a few bikers out there respect us in our S2Ks. A chap struck up a conversation with me when I got into my car the other week (as I approached I'd seen him admiring my S!). Turned out he was a biker and he said he had respect for me driving a 240bhp car with no traction control. :-)
Obviously, we know in a straight line bikes have the upper hand, but it's nice to have mutual respect for each other in the motoring world...

That’s what surprised me really Ben.
I don’t drive all that fast so I was surprised he hadn’t just gone past and buggered off into the distance.
Maybe he was respecting the speed limit or just not trying to win any prizes.
It was a little wet so he might have just been driving slower.
Or perhaps he just wanted some company?
I’ve seen all sorts of arguments about which will be faster between a bike and car on certain road types, but I’m under no illusion that if I’m driving the car then the bike will be faster.
It was just pleasant to have a bit of a fun play with someone rather than having someone right up my arse flashing or trying to force some sort of race.
(although it’s not normally a bike that does that of course)

hope so
i've never sat either side on this one. bikes are good, cars are good as a petrolhead i've always liked both and never understood the nay sayers on either side.
this debate has been rattling on in the letters pages of evo lately too.
on a bike i've only ever had cars trying to play in a straight line although i had a car like LLs pushing on in front of me through a very twisty section and he was doing well (i'm a proper novice biker btw) - he was doing this when i caught him so it was nowt to do with me
i never ride anywhere near flat out but i drive the S quite close to my limits as the margin of error is much, much wider in a car. on a bike you'll just kill yourself
