Personally I was never fond of cars edging into the kerb to 'let me pass' on a bike.
But it's a nice kind gesture and always aknowledged by me.
However, if I wanted to pass I could and would, but in my time and where I chose.
It's a pain because the cars chuck up all the crap from the kerb, and some cases you may be positioned on the nearside so not fun.

Leaving a decent 'bail out' gap in front is far more helpful, not just to bikes overtaking.

fine, you want to go past - if you are going to make such a song and dance about it - I expect you to feck off into the distance (ditto cars)
I promise that if I'm ever in your neck of the woods I will

Slowmoving congested traffic filtering aside, I am always slightly wary of those that pull over into one side, and/or slow down a bit.

There is always the risk that they are pulling over to make room to pull a u-turn or turn wide onto something on the other side of the road. Or have fallen asleep or are pissed etc

Unless it's a particularly narrow road it doesn't make much difference if a car pulls over as to whether I go for the overtake or not.

I like bikers, they often nod at me like I'm one of the community! Or they wheelie alongside me!

I imagine they must be young and gorgeous and then I get worried that it could have been my dad or some other

Penelope
Dumb question.
But you are female and not unpleasing to the eye... right?

I think I can work out the motivation of the 2 wheelers.

I think it's just an acknowledgement of my good taste in cars!

Exclamation

Prof Pending has currently morphed his car into a rocket.....so he may be some time. I hope to see him over the Christmas period though, so I will of course pass on your regards.
