my GTD is a cheaper version of that 320. Its a good car for someone who has no interest in cars really. Very easy to drive, 50-70mpg, cheap to insure, anonymous when parked, reliable, cheap to run etc etc

It is white goods though. Even with 140hp fwd is shat

Ok so now to bring it back on topic a bit, if you could only have one car would you rather have an M2, a 320D or a 12yo Boxter?

Of those 3, M2 without question. 320d yawn fest. 12yr Boxster non S doesn't interest me. If it was an S version it'd be different. But for what I need, it's M2.

I'd still rather have the M135i though for a one car solution as I need to put bikes in the back.

As nice as it is I'd say the s2000 isn't comfortable or practical enough for one car only

Exactly this.

It's a shame the M3/4 never come in an estate because that would be the perfect one car solution for me.

I've had one as my only car for the last 11 years.

Have you got kids?

I'd have happily kept mine until all of a sudden there was 3 of us.

Now I've had my m3 for a year I'm probably spoiler now and wouldn't want an old car for a daily anymore

Lamest excuses I've heard - you can get a sprog in the front and one in the back of a Boxster; there is space for infants under the roof.

There is a roof rack system (986 at least) for bikes.

Must be all the oestrogen they put in bread and progesterone in the water these days...
