Boxster upgrades
Porsche has boosted the Boxster and Boxster S, with more power and more torque, and a tweaked Tiptronic S auto transmission.
The entry-level 2.7-litre engine now develops an additional 5bhp, bringing max power to 242bhp. Torque is also up (from 199 to 201lb ft), but fuel consumption now 1mpg better, at 30.4mpg average.
The Boxster S engine has been increased from 3.2 to 3.4 litres, and now develops 291bhp 15 bhp more than its predecessor

I'd rather have the Cayman - less on the road.

Nope and neither has the Cayman, no LSD before the 911.
Boxster might be 242 bhp now from the 2.7 but it is a heavy car.
The last one I drove was a Boxster S (996 though) but very heavy for the power. On paper the Boxster S should keep up with the NSX, in real terms it struggles against the S2000.
But now they have upped the game again (with the Boxster S) it might be more interesting.
