It couldn't, it wouldn't fit without making the car fail both crash and pedestrian safety regs.

It's a four stroke.

If anyone ever wants a paperweight there 6 dead rotors on the shelf....I would never buy one without taking it straight somewhere for an engine rebuild as if they previous owner hasn't looked after it it'll go pop at some point no matter what you do.

Are you Mr Graves's stooge? You emphasised his point very articulately.

No, I just got fed up of towing my rotary-powered car home

Beautiful engine - when it was working.I'll have another when I have the money to build one up properly with better case hardening on the side irons and possibly some coated side seals. But that's £££'s

you should buy a Rotary Norton and pull wheelies everywhere

then when it breaks you can push it home

Explain if you could? Are we talking about bulking up the bonnet / arches to fit a piddling 2.3litre engine?

Yes, there's got to be certain clearances between the bonnet and engine, etc. If you look in the engine bay on an RX the engine is actually tucked half under the firewall, even an S2000 motor is massive compared to one.

you're not a fool if you accept it will almost certainly self-destruct

and before that it will break down at least once

don't spend any serious money on fixing it and your downside should be limited to £1500 or so while you own it

can someone find the thread a few years back when the buyer of a new one was getting all uppity with me for telling him these cars would be worth the square root of feck all?

Just shows you then that Mazda CBA redesigning the engine bay to fit one in. 2.3 litres is small, appreciate that there's a need for an IC and associated plumbing plus Turbo. The rotary is a design disaster!
