They're the best ones to buy, 800-1000, couple of grand for a new engine, then you don't have to worry about what the previous owner did to it.

There is a lot of internet hyperbole about the Wankel - mainly promulgated people who don't understand two-strokes, let alone non-strokes.
It's a four stroke.

If anyone ever wants a paperweight there 6 dead rotors on the shelf....I would never buy one without taking it straight somewhere for an engine rebuild as if they previous owner hasn't looked after it it'll go pop at some point no matter what you do.
I know a few people who owned them and never really had any issues with them.

Yes, the plugs flooded the odd time, and economy was...sh1t, but so what - they loved them!

And of those 6 rotors, how many are from a Renesis?!

Yes, the rotary has 4 stages of combustion, but it has no strokes />

Exactly; in other words, it's a poor man's gas turbine...

It's not, and it does have a stroke. It doesn't go round and round, it wobbles a bit

It does both, actually - that's why it has a fixed gear & an eccentric shaft.

Lots of very cheap ones about, (probably for a very good reason! ) again cheap tax. But I wouldn't be able to afford to run them. Personally, I would have gone for an RX7. But anything JDM in my book is perfect!

RX-7.. Old school lovely to look at. Horrendous oversteer made then lethal in the wrong hands. Not a classic great handler at all. The earlier rotarys in the rx7 were likely to last no more than 70-100k before it needed new tips.
By god they were beautiful though, like a panther. I don't think there's ever been a better looking car from the Japanese

My mate used to have an RX7 FC, which he used to have to put in £20 a day just to get him anywhere. I think he told me he got around 10mpg out of it. But I think he was having problems with the apex seals or the water jacket. The FD shape is my favourite though />

I used to get about 2-3mpg out of the Renny when racing it. Which isn't terrible, but ain't great either.

A great car for the money if you can put a aside the MPG, performance and robustness.

If you'd of paid a lot then a fool would have been worthy, but cracking car for 3k.

Certainly a lot of car for the money, just plan it as a 10k car when it comes to running costs and repairs and you're still quids even if it does go pop. It's still a lot of car for the money.
