It was nearer to £2k

I got a bit lucky with the price (time will tell I guess) but the RX8 is certainly a car you should consider if you're after cheap thrills.

£3k (or less) will get you a car with under 35k on the clock. If the car passes the compression test and has been well looked after then will work out as medium-term great value for money.

Drove home tonight from Reading and she is certainly rapido. You get a little beep at 9000 revs reminding you to change gear

Have to say, since the RX8 was released I have never seen one broken at the side of a road.

's cause when they break they tend not start - they're all broken on driveways at home....

Funnily enough, I saw one stuck outside the owner's house just this Saturday. AA van was there blocking one lane of a busy A-Road.

Really? All the reviews i ever read of the RX7 said that it was an excellent handling car.

IIRC it was a bit snappy on the limit - the Yanks loved it; the British hacks hated it because it wasn't a Porsche.

Reminds me a bit of the fate of another Japanese car that used the same driveline...

It was snappy on the limit. What the RX-7 had you believe, with its unbelievable grip, was that it handled well. It didn't, I assure you. It gripped fantastic, until it rained or you're tyres began to degrade. Pushing on in one of those, you had to be assured the tarmac wasn't lumpy, best tyres possible.. then you'd have great fun.
Many an American hedge in the 90's sported some sort of RX-7 />
I think the Supra handled better, likened to a Jap 911

I needed a daily a few months back and for sub £3k you can get a lot for your money. £2300 got me a 2002 EP3. Higher miles than the RX8 but I trust the K20 a hell of a lot more! RX8's look great but I'd rather have got something a bit older like a DC2 or EP3.

I have considered it loads of times! Such good value for money is you get a good one! Lovely to be inside. Just so, so common! They don't turn heads and being 23 I'm a bit of a poser!

The 231 is noticeably quicker than the 192, I drove both within a couple of hours and straight away discounted the lack luster 192!

The black and red seats are lovely too, and the dash board is sweet! It ever tells you your speed in digital! Now not many cars do that...! Oh, wait a minute />

If I only had a budget for 3/4k, but could afford the monthly fuel costs still, then i'd have one!

A lot of car for 11k when you think what other 3 year old car it buys you! http://classifieds.pistonheads.com/c...-230-r3/748526
