Keys to my car are kept in my bedroom at night, and my spare set is in an MoD safe we have on site at work in a secure part of the building protected by a alarm system monitored by the police, so no danger of those getting stolen

more often than not the beater is parked in front of the S so they would have to move that 1st. I keep the keys out of sight but not hidden.

as its unfortunately illegal for me to keep a loaded shotgun under the bed i'd rather someone came in and went out quietly without waking me.

and oddly i'd have far more respect for them if they managed to do that over some chav trying to bash the front door in.

My keys are kept on the bedside cabinet, just above the metal bat I keep under the bed for those special occasions

We take the keys to both the 911 and Jenny's Clio upstairs - I imagine that alone deters 95% of opportunistic thieves. If someone is going to go to the trouble of breaking in, setting off the alarm and threatening us, I'm not going to put my own, my wife's, and in a few months time our child's, safety at risk for something that is insured.

:itotallydisagree:

If someone breaks in to get the car keys then they can damn well search around and find them.

Then I'll wake Mark up and he can send them on their way

I'll call the cops and wait a few hours for a policeman on a BMX bike to arrive to explain that Chloe the Clio has been stolen and can I have a crime number so I can get a new car from the insurance The policeman will probably be angry for being called away from his donuts

But same as Gritty, they're in a jacket somewhere usually.

Pain in the arse finding them sometimes to be honest

Not that you could know which flat the S belonged to anyway

NSX and S2000 keys can't be accessed at night, if they are willing to stay until morning then they'd best put the kettle on.
You got a safe with a timelock on it then?

I always used to fit a concealed immobiliser switch on my cars so it was not possible to start it even if you had the keys.
My favourite place to fit a push switch was under the gear lever gaiter.
Easy with older cars, I just put a break in the coil earth lead.
Not sure how you would do it easily with an S but I sure someone will be along shortly
