A truly awful piece of crap. The car was off the road for weeks.

oh yeah... right. The irony isn't lost on me here.

The only decent car they made at the time was the Lupo GTI IMO, which hardly sold at all!!

They were great, my mum had a silver six speed one, she loved her little Lupo

No one has mentioned Landrover, with out doubt the worst built vehicle ever

My defender cost them a mint, had it four years and they kept trying i give them that,
I kept it that long because they kept giving me free extended warrenties and then paid full book value to take back!

1) 3 power steering units
2) 4 Alternators
3) New radio
4)Roof off twice leaks
5) 5 new doors corrosion
6) 5 new wheels corrosion
7) 3 sets of diesal spill rail pipes , including jet washing drive and a new bonnet liner
8) Viscus engine fan feel off
9) 6 turbo heat shields, sorted that one my self and wrote to LR to explain the piss poor design and how to over come the problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!No answer
10) Windscreen leaks
11) Front hub oil seals
12) Ball joints steering
13) Gear box literally fell to bits
14)3 starter motors

And many other minor issues!!!!!!!!!

I write to the MD and pointed that my LR was a great off road vehicle and was always off road , in the garage , he was not pleased, this is maybe why Landcruiser has displace the LR the world over , the LR great in principle bit the detail design and manufacture is just so so shoddy.

W reg pug 406 1.8petrol estate company car.

TOTAL crap seats gave me back ache did 3 clutches over 90k miles speakers were made of cardboard and rated to 4!!watts.

it welded a spark plug to the head total shit, I'd never buy a pug anyway and the 1000 mile old pug expert van I had to hire 6 months ago was like driving a turd on an icerink, shit handling woefully badly set out power curve and a handbrake that sticks up yopur arse when you get out ( yep its on the rhs of the drivers seat )

However shit anyone thinks there car was, i can beat anyone it looked like this! ...

It was my first car, it was ok reliability wise but heres what i didnt like...

*Turning circle of a mobility scooter.
*Styling of a cardboard box, in fact a skip had more curves.
*Carpet every! inside if you ever had a crash you'd have carpet burns.
*Brakes of jelly, I'd probably stop quicker putting my feet on the ground like the flinstones.
*Handling as good as shopping trolley
*Windscreen wipers that interfered with the radio
*Various mechnical problems, cutting out etc

I remember dating my first GF and in all honesty i didnt want her to see the car and her mates said it was something out of only fools and horse but worse, but i made up for the car

I had one of those, I attemted a J turn on a privat airstrip and rolled it onto its side, we pushed it back onto its wheels and it even passed its next mot

I didn't realise I disliked it. It was my first car, so I should have loved it, but when its first MOT (in my ownership) came along it turned out I'd killed it. So I must have hated it. I managed to drag 120mph out of it though. Downhill on the M1, near Sheffield.
Downhill? Mineshaft more like

I had a mate when I was younger who had a Ford Capri 1.6S. He came into the pub one night claiming that he'd seen 130mph out of it. We, of course, wouldn't believe him so he took us out in it.

Off we went 70, 80, 90 mph then the speedo needle just dropped onto the stop... a couple of seconds later he looked down and said "See, 130 mph..."

Ford speedos notoriously optimistic...
