It's better with the stripes. It gives it some character! I did not have it lowered because of the speed bumps round here and I don't think it needs it!

No.

They are good, but need different dampers to begin to compete with the S.
TBF, Suzy's chosen to leave hers at standard anti-Darwin height and that's almost as bad for later MXs as is slamming an S2000. That might even things up a tad.

Same thing happened to rubber-dinghy MGBs too, coincidentally.

So I really need to test drive an Eibached version, could be difficult up where I am

Been doing a bit more reading up (dangerous game I know). Reading of rust and corrosion problems, bonnet, boot lid, arches and side window frame\pillar. Does this just effect the earlier MK3's or MK3.5 too? Perhaps too soon to tell?

I had... about 24 times, but thought about it a futher 25 times Opinions seem to vary a lot, some people saying it doesn't handle as well as the S2000 or feel as special, others saying it's great fun and a few tweaks and it go from good to epic (within reason of course). I need to drive one this summer, folk I know who have driven one said it's a blast.

i cant speak for the late cars but the first MX5 would hammer an S2000 in terms of handling, they were very light and fantastically agile to the point where even the modest power felt enough. i would buy one of the very first cars if i were you, as untinkered with as possible, imo an all time great.

EDIT something like this

I was eventually driving mine like a moped though; power on or off.

The S2000 was a very natural progression.
