MB can speak for himself of course but as I read it he wants 360 degree vandal recording including the sides of his car not just plain and simple fore and aft. Mind you, WTF he can do about random scrotes keying his Aston on the sides as they amble past beats me. Maybe he has some mafia contacts
I use a go pro session. Small and a very simple quick release mount makes it easy to remove. 2 hours of continuous recording at 1080 before a recharge.
Only thing though is I needed to get a polarizing lens to stop the windscreen reflections.

What you gonna do when some enterprising scrote breaks the side window to steal your 200 quid camera .....
Unless they are covertly installed as part of the interior i can't see the point if it's anti Vandal - if the area is that bad, wtf are you parking there for / going there for in a car you are bothered about in the first place.

My local garage 5 mins walk can fit. Took some Wodka to their Saturday morning coffee break as thanks to Robby for patching up my inner mudguard smashed on a really vicious metal road ramp over a mains lead. The one with bison grass is on special at Morrisons and Robby is Polish. The boss is threatening to send me a bill but only in jest ...

There's no evidence these cameras deter vandalism and it wouldn't surprise me if they sometimes provoke it.
And in the unlikely event that a perp is identified, what's going to happen to them? Sweet FA within the law.
I sort of see the point for recording moving incidents but I worry using these things does turn the driver into some sort of self righteous twat
More often than not when looking at dash cam footage there's plenty wrong with the cammer's driving but they seem oblivious to it.
The most glaring example being people who don't understand the rules and etiquette surrounding the use of roundabouts and drive in a way to make something out of nothing.
I don't think it went too well for this chap:
Aston Martin keying: 'Silly' Hackney father admits damaging £100k car outside Tesco - Telegraph
Car vandalism is one of my pet hates. I've hauled someone into the main road for kicking a mirror from an MX5 and handed him to the police for it. Personally I don't park the nice car anywhere where it's likely to happen, but having had a car vandalised it makes you helplessly angry and the thought of the chance of identifying someone seems fair to me. The RR I'm not fussed about as nobody bothers with them.
