What this doesn't show you is the likely 23 previous miles of him doing 54.6mph .... seriously ... get a move on or get out of the way.

Watch the video. This bloke (who owns a dash-cam company) has clearly gone out trying to provoke trouble (by driving slowly down the middle lane) so he can film it and promote his product.
I may have in the past undertaken people like this, its a problem in this country and heavens knows why people continue to hog the middle. I think you're right though, clearly an advertising thing. And he should be punished for that. Although on this occasion, he may get away with it due to the police frailties.

Maybe he does need a dashcam though, to film his own horrendous driving afterall!

18 wheelers have enough to worry about with vision, never mind idiotic hoggers.

And here is one of the problems with dash cams, we don't see the whole incident. We only get to see what the car driver wants us to see, in this case the evil lorry driver trying to ram him off the road. This gets some media coverage and we all feel sorry for Mr Stockdale, and we can all hate on lorry drivers..............you know, those guys who deliver everything you buy at the shops. I believe around 80% of freight is transported on our roads and they provide a vital service to the country. Yes it's annoying when they overtake another lorry going up a hill on the only section of dual carriageway, but it could be worse. They could be one of those selfish twats who hog the middle lane doing 50, who then post up their dash cam footage.

Dashcam doing it's job here though lorry-ramming-cars-fatal-crash

Methinks, just like the driver's hours clocks, dashcams ought to be compulsorily fitted to lorries.

Just that twatface's company ought to be banned from tendering

So let me get this right. You crash into the back of a stationary queue of cars, in those conditions (looked nice a clear from the video), kill someone, seriously injury two others (one now has life changing head injuries) and he only gets 3 years inside. If you get caught doing 192mph and you don't injury anyone, don't cause an accident, or even are witnessed doing this you get one year less

I think our justice system had an overhaul in terms of sentencing lengths.

Any of those particularly good for NON-HARDWIRED installation.
Since my cars are on types of loan agreement with work I can't hardwire anything in so the ones up behind the mirror and then down around the windscreen are probably going to be non-starters.
It looks like the Eprance 801 or Mio Mivue look most suitable. Opinions please.

Thank you

The MioVue is a very easy installation; I run the power lead from the 12v lighter along the passenger footwell, up the door seal and to the camera. It took c. 5 minutes to install, if that.

You've got me thinking about one of these now... think I'll invest in the Mio Mivue 518.

Will get one in the January sales maybe as things are a bit tight atm.

I've finally taken the plunge with a dash cam - a Garmin 20 so I can swap between cars and use the in built battery. Hopefully it will never be needed but should add peace of mind
