Diesel Subaru Legacy
I've just been to pick my Legacy from the dealers after a service and noticed they had a new diesel one on the forecourt (you can't miss them, there's big scoop on the bonnet).
Popped in to get a brochure and the salesman offered me a test drive so I thought I'd give it a go.
It was basic spec so it didn't have leather, all the toys etc. but it still fairly decent inside and it was a manual which is the only option available at the moment.
It was only a quick drive but it seemed nice enough, nothing to get excited about though, it's just OK. If it wasn't for the noise you would've been hard pressed to tell it was a diesel but I don't really see what all the fuss it about. According to the salesman this particular one is noisier than normal, something to do with the PDI not having been done or something
but I took that with a pinch of salt.
It seemed to handle and feedback nicely, unsurprisingly not as good as my Spec B but good fun and still better than most modern cars, even so called sporty ones.
The top spec one is only
