Nice work on the Elise there.

Sure there wasn't some 'diesel' on the road

You in the air yet (God help us...... )?

Yes that indeed was a classic amount of mileage, although I'm gutted for you fella as it looked really nice.

Still could have been a lot worse fella, and you're not injured in any way.

Well, apart from the knees, but you'll live!

On the prang front - best one from someone I know was a Merc 450 SEAC. A friends Dad had owned it for three weeks, before going on holiday.

Said friend took it for a spin one night on some deserted country roads in the fenlands with his brother.

Not entirely sure how it happened, probably too much speed vs lack of ability but he lost control, went though a hedge into a field and rolled it three times.

The guy who removed the car reckoned they'd been doing over 100mph when it went through the hedge, as it stopped 150 meters into the field!

Scary stuff!

Hiya Mark, to be honest im not entirely sure what happened, I wasnt going that fast (35-40ish) into a rhd bend, the back end went and I caught it but the front wheel went onto the grass verge and the car slid down the ditch into the fence. Its not like its my first rwd sports car and it caught me completely by surprise, I guess I wouldnt have minded so much if I was driving like an idiot and going fast!! No one else to blame but me! Oh well!!

On the flying front have finished my basic flying training and find out on 7th Feb if im gonna end up on Jets, Helicopters or Multis!

The Elise doesn't handle like the cars you're used to Mike - the weight is at the back and when it goes, it's got more momentum than the Westie etc.

Best way to drive an Elise is slow in getting the weight over the front wheels, then just before the apex get on the power and allow the weight over the rears to help with grip.

Sounds like you went in on a trailing throttle and the back end just didn't grip, once an Elise is sideways, it's not a simple beast to get back.

All a learning experience though Just don't do it in a Tucano.
