That Evora looks bloody great and they seem to have made it handle AND ride without attaching HAL 9000 to the suspension.
Shame about the price

What a load of b0llocks!
Ok - sweeping generalisation but how on earth can a car company release it's new model at the same price or lower than the existing on?
Exige S or Exige 260 plus options is now over

How do they make it cheaper? By making it cheaper!
The Evora is the entry level version of a clever new variable platform, which will spawn a whole raft of cars. Building upon lessons learned with the Elise, they've developed a more production-friendly version.
Also, the Exige 260 is the overkill version of the Elise; there's probably a lot of expensive add-ons to make it go so well, so it will only sell in penny numbers.
There is also the uncomfortable fact that the ultimate versions are there to separate fools from their money; a Cayman and a 911 GT3 are essentially the same bag of bits re-arranged, with a few expensive add-ons on the one intended to sell in penny numbers!
Looking forward to the Cayman/Evora test. I reckon the Evora will win because the colour palette is far more imaginative!

BTW; I was contemplating chopping in the Prelude for an Evora.
I'd not chop in the S. Unless the Evora convertible turns out to be truly exceptional to drive and had a girdle to pull in its hips a tad.
Would two be indulgent? I thought an NSX and NSX-T would be a great combo, that I never quite got round to sorting out...

Interesting take on things from Clarkson, as always.

This is true, haven't really been at home since early May.
I'm starting to want one really hard now. I will try and wait a year and pick up a launch model for sensible money, once all the inevitable ECU bugs and so on have been sorted by the owner going back and forth to the dealer.
But will any of the first owners buy it in Isotope Green.
