Evora First Drive
Jesus, Starlight; you're sadder than me!
I'm not gonna argue with your analysis. Other than Porsches are, like most other german cars, invariably some shade of silver/grey, metallic blue with grey leather, or were black but now white! TBF, some Porsche owners are clearly refusniks and still order red. Or even yellow, if the Stasi don't get in quick.
Lotus are usually far more imaginative (and being British, tasteful) colours stolen from behind the local motor factors.
But then I'm ashamed to say I grew up in Chavhunt, so I've probably got a lingering fondness for the old spiv and his very clever backyard specials!

I think they would have to go back to making an Esprit size car to become more popular.
The average punter for that price will want more comfort and presence on the road compared to the track orientated Elise / Exige / Evora. Their very style and size has an adverse effect I reckon, making them more of an enthusiasts car than a mass market car.
Perhaps Lotus are happy with that
making the step up to more mass production is a huge company investment requirement and if they can make money in their current format why change

Based on the new platform, but with a Lexus V8/V10.
There will be a new Elise in 2012, too.
The Evora range HAS to be very me-too Porsche, because that's the only thing anyone will buy any more. It's why TVR fell, it's why they all fell.
But like Gad say, I'm unsure if they'll ever shake off the kit car image (Lotus!).

Granted, a more luxury focused offering such as the new Esprit will be even nicer on the road, but it's a mistake to class the Evora as a track car.
In terms of road presence, I've seen pics of it beside a Cayman and it looks to be just as tall and wide.

Well serves me right for watching that 5th gear rubbish
It looked pretty low like an Exige and pretty compact but without another car beside it for comparison I guess looks can be deceiving.

I'm inclined to agree with that! I'm no different!
Evora feels lower from the drivers seat but not by a huge amount. Visibility is excellent in both

but sometimes I go over the top on this stuff
