AE, it's a tricky one. It is tempting. The problem is when you look at what else you could get for the price. But nothing esle new tempts me. THe other stuff on the list is used / older.

Nick, i've seriously only test driven 4 cars from a dealer in my life! And 90% of private cars i've tested i've bought, and 100% i'd intended to buy. I am the last person out there who is a test pilot!

When I say the ride is harder, it's still sublime. It's just a little firmer than the NA one. I'm still surprised / disappointed you didn't like it more.

Dan, E92 M3, Integra DC2, S2000, GT3 etc

Pie, i've been around Spa in one fo those which a friend of mine owns and I was nothing but impressed by it's track manners. Superb. But it would be a Cayman for me.

:ding: £50k could buy you a nice used V8, AM or Audi.

As Nick has said the price will come down quite quickly on these, the competition is the 997 (2+2) and you can pick these up for under £25k now.

Yep and if you subtract the +2 option (the rear seats are unusable in Porsche and lotus anyway) then you bring in the cayman s, and some Italian options too...

The +2 option is good if you have small kids

Stop it !!!

I was so tempted to buy one of these when I got the Elise, but my head took over as I thought the depreciation would be quite severe. I'm still hugely tempted and in a year or so they'll be even more attractive price wise.

I love the Elise though, it is barking mad, but you never know.....

This is odd, but on reflection the NA Evora left more of a mark on me. Yes the S version in extremely quick, but the NA one is still a fast car (you have to drive one) and it was just so nicely balanced. And at £40k, it's a bargain if you are a true enthusiast and aren't swayed by a Porsche badge

The Evoras problems are all on paper i think. Every test i see gushes and says it puts porsches to shame but say toyota v6 and c280 bhp along with a sizeable mass and it doesnt sound exciting

i think they‘re gorgeous in the flesh
