F1: Bahrain
Renault head of engineering Pat Symonds showed data to a number of media personnel to disprove the theory Alonso had deliberately lifted off the throttle.
"Fernando came out of the turn and accelerated down the straight into fifth gear, hitting 227kph, full throttle, no touching of the brakes or anything like that," said Symonds.
"You can see on the accelerometer the impact, that he got hit from behind.
"So all I can say from our side is there's no blame attributable to Fernando, which is what some of the speculation might be.

Seems to be a bit of a contradiction in what you're saying there.
You say his car has no pace, but he was able to smack into the back of Alonso with a considerable speed difference when Alonso was apparently giving it full beans ?

I tend to agree that at Bahrain the McLaren was lacking race pace when compared with the red cars, but like so much in F1 a lot of it comes down to which circuit they are at. Ferrari won't have it all their own way this season, of that I am positive.

Alonso is a big loss for McClaren, just as he was when he left Renault the previous year.

You'd have to fancy Button to do well - king of throttle control and all that

Never quite got to the bottom of wether that title is self appointed or actually deserved..
