A V8 does the look the best...I'm privileged enough to know the man who made the TG tables and see some of his work.

Another popular item is a clock in a piston/conrod bottom end hole

iv'e still got this new old stock S800 engine block which i intend to do something with one day. i have a huge slab of 1 inch thick perspex to use as the top and bottom. i went for perspex as it can be drilled, tapped and shaped at will.

i guess it's quite rare. i have a reciept fot it from a few years ago costing around £350. it just came as spares with my car.

I have 4 valves from ship (big f@#kers, 1.5 metre long by 250mm on the bottom) and I think I will make that into a glass topped desk by drilling and tapping the stem of the valve. Already machined them shiny!

As much as I appreciate the F20C for its engineering magnificence, I think I would find a old Rover V8 as that would look better. In saying that, Laser Lady idea with the glass inbetween the head and block would be quite cool if you put in spacers of say 30mm each side, would give you 60mm clearance in total, with the natural mirror like quality of glass you will be able to see the pistons/valves.

Either way, will have to get the engine shot blasted and then powdercoated/lacquered!

Thanks for that.. yet another use for my V8 if I don't get around to rebuilding it properly!
