Yeah it was the coast road.

Living up in Swalwell so once I got past ikea it was ok.

It is so dry up here now you would not believe it. I was at work and the storm was right above us. Could not see more than 5 foot outside the window.

Just been chatting to my mate, he works at the north end of Team Valley - said the sky went dark .. then a bit darker ... then a lot darker .... and then the heavens literally opened. Took him over 4 hours to get from work to home in North Shields.

Hail storm in Leicester left my 9 month old CRV looking shot peened. Roof, bonnet, tailgate, both wings and sides.

Least it wasn't your S2000 parked outside, you'd have had no roof to add insult to injury.

It was a little barking mad at work yesterday, the South of England was largely untouched, but the Midlands and the North were taking a real beating.

It is the first time in my career that I have ever witnesssed aircraft inbound to Birmingham holding over the central London area as all the holds were full and there was nowhere for them to go.

Imagine a busy motorway, but with one side closed so they all have to use one carriageway to go in both directions.

My factory flooded, thankfully only to a limited amount we got sandbags in place. We did however have pallets floating around the car park.

The drains could not cope with the volume of water and as we are on a slope we had all the water from the roads uphill from us cascading through the car park. It was over 2 feet deep at one point

Two of my employees have smashed glass in their cars and badly dented panels. Ironically, one of the cars was in a bodyshop compound at the time and is one of over a 100 cars damaged by the hail.

Expect insurance premiums to go up next year!

It took me 23 mins yesterrday to get from Teesside to Edinburgh but I was at 38000'

I saw this (and a few other) CB (cumulonimbus) on the way up. What a monster probably the biggest I've seen in UK, good job LTB for keeping it all moving.

The guys on Daventry sector (27/28/32/34) did a great job yesterday, I was sat on London Upper (1/2/24) so it didn't really affect me that much, apart from the odd bit of 'American' turbulence here and there.
