I think Hamilton will be going to Mercedes next year.
The more it goes on, the more I think this is probably true. The way both Hamilton and Schumacher are being coy makes me think the whole thing is already decided and they're just waiting to the agreed date to announce it.
I hope so. As much as I don't particularly like Hamilton, he is good and I think they would work well together.

Not quite what I meant. They're waiting for Schumacher to announce his re-retirement, before they announce Hamilton as his replacement at Mercedes. Mercedes don't want to be seen to be pushing Schumacher out, hence the delay. Hamilton and Rosberg would be a good pairing for Mercedes.

I imagine the appeal for Hamilton (apart from it being a change) will be less PR work, as McLaren are well known for the amount they make their drivers do. And although McLaren have the performance now, and likely will next year, all bets may be off for 2014 with new engine rules.

MS won't leave I'm sure of it. No reason to at all... If he is pushed out for political reasons then it's 2006 all over again.

I think merc would be good for Ham as a big brand as far as marketing goes. But Im not sure merc can handle his crybaby demanding nature. 3 years MS has put up with the teams failings yet he remained a gentlemen. Hamilton would be kicking and screaming, I'm not sure they can handle him.

Either keep the pairing as it is for two more years or MS can go to Ferrari and support Alonso. Possible but not going to happen. Would be great viewing though!

I think the writing is on the wall, I think MSC will leave at the end of this year, Hamilton will be his replacement, however there is an alternative, and that is Rosberg goes to Maclaren which would be great for Maclaren as Rosberg and Button would be a great pairing, and Hamilton partners your hero, again a good partnership. Only spanner in this suggestion is Rosberg's contract ... if I was Rosberg I would probably go for it, depends how much he wants to stay with the German team.

Going to stay with a friend who lives out there, so we should be ok for a guide

Three fairly fruitless years where he's largely been out-performed by Rosberg. How long do you see him staying, and is the situation really likely to improve? Maybe he's still enjoying himself, but Mercedes aren't in it to endulge Michael Schumacher.

McLaren could certainly do a lot worse than Rosberg, but are there signs that Rosberg is unhappy to finish his contract at Mercedes? He signed a multi-year deal only last November. And from Mercedes' point of view, would they really be better off with Hamilton-Schumacher than Hamilton-Rosberg?

That option seems extremely unlikely to me.

Rosberg is another Trulli for me, exceptionally fast at times, but really tails off in the race. He is not a team leader IMO. Mercedes need a World Champion in their team for the money the company is spending. All depends on whether Schumacher is leaving (which I personally think he is)

Good find, and £60 million ... that is an amazing amount of money compared to the £13 million rumoured at Maca ... he is defo gone .... I had no idea that amount of money was being bandied around! Perez at Maclaren would be awesome!

Presumably that's £20million per year for 3 years. Nice work if you can get it.

Salary list:

You'd think Schumacher and Raikonnen would be earning more than that.
