tires last 6 laps - this is crazy.
we don't see cars racing or drivers racing each other - we see drivers saving tires.
even skip qualify for tires sake.

we do see a lot of action on the track because of the tires - but is this a sport we want?
You want to go back to the days of "it's impossible to overtake" and one long procession? Because I disagree. F1 has been a lot more exciting the last couple of years.
no i don't.
any extreme is bad.
what was so wrong with the tires at 2012 that they diced to make them so short lived this year?

Tyres lasting only 5-6 laps is a joke. I thought this was meant to be the pinnacle of motorsport?

Alonso was in a league of 1
Massa looked good but faded a bit towards the end.
Hamilton in a slower car should be well chuffed with 3rd.
Button played to his strengths very well and got an excellent result.
Webber suffers from more bad luck.

And finally.......
Vettel is still a massive cock
, though you may have just put the F1 commentary team out of a job.

We're back to where we were at the start of last year. By the end of last year, the teams had largely got on top of the tyre issues and the racing had become a little boring again.

But are Pirelli going to keep making the tyres worse year on year?

You have to admit, artificial or not, the tyres did produce a quite exciting finish with Vettel all but catching Hamilton on the last corner.

I don't see it was artificial.

The tyres can either be run into the ground doing quali type laps or made to last driving slow. The teams do all their testing and projections to find the balance in pace between quick laps and pit stops and on completely different strategies Red bull and Mercedes arrived at nearly the same result.

Vettel killed his tyres on those closing laps and you could see him fighting for grip to bring it home. Which means driver skill was a factor not just a car that produces as much down force as possible and demands a tyre to cope.
