I can't honestly say I've ever seen more impressive defensive driving. Back when Top Gear did their Senna piece they showed the Monaco race where Senna fought in front of Mansell with a slower car and slower tyres. On a track like Monaco that pretty much just takes nerve as there are so few places to pass. Bahrain actually seems a pretty good circuit for actual passes where DRS just gets them in range.

That being said, I think Nico choked under pressure a bit. He could smell a win and a big lead in the WDC and I think it got to him. He's a skilled driver and with his tyre advantage even against an on form Lewis he should have been away I think his own nerves got the better of him.

No I disagree none of this was Nico' own lack of self belief, Nico simply did not have the skills to pass Hamilton and he knew it at the end of the race.

Being ruthless is key to success as WDC and it has been shown time and time again. If Nico showed Lewis he means business then Lewis won't pull the same stunt without thinking twice first.

I like Nico. but come on Lewis!

hopefully riccardo will show vettel up this year. So far he driven Much better than vettel in each race although given that penalty.
Lewis to win and riccardo to beat vettel. hopefully lotus will get good too and Grosjan can complete again. He showed that he was great last year.

What's going on with that fruit pastel ? Maldonado. Utter use less time after time. Williams are laughing at him lol

But, they need to remember there is now twice the chance of him hitting one of their cars.

It's a lot less. He was always going to hit one of their cars before, his own!

Look at his track record though. He typically takes the other driver out while he continues

Fair point. And to be honest, that's quite an impressive talent.

As far as the rules are concerned - if a car is at least half way alongside another car then at least a cars' width of room must be given.

Lewis ran Nico off the road multiple times. Nico seemed to take it well mind.

You've not read the rules properly. That only applies on the straights before the braking area. This was for instances such as MSC and Barichello a few years back.

The "running off the road" you are referring to occured on corner exits.

20.4 Any driver defending his position on a straight, and before any braking area, may use the full width of the track during his first move, provided no significant portion of the car attempting to pass is alongside his. Whilst defending in this way the driver may not leave the track without justifiable reason. For the avoidance of doubt, if any part of the front wing of the car attempting to pass is alongside the rear wheel of the car in front this will be deemed to be a 'significant portion'.
