That was so funny, golden balls is nowhere without his 'superior' car is he, even his 'new' team mate is showing him how to drive.

Thing is, Hamilton has proven to his team mate that he is the quicker driver, Nico has a lot to do if he is to beat Hamilton this year, but I think he was beaten soundly enough in the previous race and in this last race that he knows he cannot beat Hamilton, barring incidents/mechanical failures he will have to settle for second place this season. Hamilton is the best driver in F1 anyway so it's nothing to be ashamed of.

Hamilton would have won by a country mile (again) had it not been for the safety car.

This is a good link: http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/2014/04/0...-fastest-laps/

The next fastest lap was 1.765 seconds slower than Hamilton's fastest (which was set with no DRS whilst squabbling with Rosberg. The other teams have a huge amount of catching up to do.

Well 9 seconds at least which I think was the gap he had to Rosberg.

The question is: what would have happened if Rosberg had got into the first corner first? Would Hamilton have been able to get past?

All ifs and buts, but there might well have been a crash had Rosberg been in front!

The data on the link is interesting. Hamilton had done 19 laps on the softer tyre in his second stint with no drop off in terms of times, (and was 2.5 seconds faster per lap after the safety car) so presumably would have been able to go a fair bit further on those, leaving Rosberg little time to take advantage with the softer tyre. Note that they only pitted with 17 laps to go as a result of the safety car.

Additionally, it was reported that Rosberg's soft tyres went off hence he was unable to do anything for the final 3 laps, so I think we can conclude Hamilton would have won at a canter.

Arrows aside, it's also great to see the perceived mid-teams mixing it up too. Force India and Williams will keep RBR, Ferrari and McLaren on their toes all year. And all this before Honda get back in next year. Top stuff.

Still well done Lewis, and it was great to hear him thanking his team, always seems to take the blame and give out the credit, nice guy.

Amen. That was a throwback. Lewis and Nico kart racing.

We will never know what stopped them whether team orders or tyres going off? Who cares, great stuff

Good race for a change. Nico should not have pulled out off track to avoid crash with Lewis as Lewis has now understood that Rosberg will avoid contact. Senna used to do what Lewis did so Nico just has to be tough if he wants to beat Lewis - being a nice boy doesn't win races and Leis knows it

I get your point, but a coming together on a high speed corner could well have had even worse consequences than facing the Mercedes management to explain why a 1-2 finish had been thrown away in a key market region!
