The Formula 1 Thread - 2014
Hamilton looked abit classless in coming second today but i wont condemn him for that. We don't know whats going on behind the scenes. He might feel that he's not being treated equally which would wind anyone up.
I think out of the two he is the better driver and this will show at the end of the year. He needs to stop being so hard on himself and be abit more patient.

Okay so this "engine boost mode cheat" is a new one on me - if you aren't allowed to use it then why is it a setting the driver can select ?
Yes it was rather convenient that Nico came off and caused waved yellow in qualifying. We all hail Senna as the best ever driver with the most desire to win, and he crashed into Prost in order to win a championship - so pretending to lock up and take an exit road is a rather minor offence in the history of the sport IMHO.

So this is a team/engineer thing for engine longevity and not a breach of FIA regulations.
I'd be feeling a bit silly now if my blind dislike for a certain driver lead me to make hasty allegations without knowing the facts.

Imo Hamilton still needs to grow up. Once he failed to get pole, the probability at Monaco was he was likely to finish 2nd barring accidents and given the Mercedes is the fastest car and he and Rosberg are well matched as drivers on a circuit where overtaking is difficult. Hamilton kept Rosberg at bay in previous encounters and Rosberg was likely to here. But Hamilton has given an immense boost to Rosberg by acting childishly and that will come back to bite him. Rosberg will now have the moral ascendency and Hamilton has only himself to blame. What a tw*t

I'd love to hear the full story though, it doesn't sound like it puts Hamilton in a good light on the face of it, but he bangs on about wanting to prove himself on the track so much I'd find it hard to believe he would resort to something, less than honest shall we say. On track at least before someone cites Australia 2009

No need.
I grew up watching Senna, so I'm well aware of his tactics and what he thought was acceptable. Besides, the Senna documentary was far too one sided for my liking, and made Prost out to be the villain and Senna the saint.
Schumacher was cut from the same cloth as Senna. No denying their talent behind the wheel, they just didn't have the right mindset to be regarded as greats.
