The Formula 1 Thread - 2014
Hold on there's been some revisions-
Things they can't say
Tell Rosburg I'm dicking his wife.
Lewis your car will explode in three and one quarter laps time.
Stop being a girl and get on with the race.
Christ my nuts are sweating.
Hit the Millers octaine boost now.
Isn't it about time Massa hit somthing?
Things they can say
Chaps can I have a pepperoni with extra anchovies next pit?
Err, I only seem to have three wheels on the car.
Can I pit I need a piss?
tell me again, what track is this.
Anyone remember to record Dr.Who?
I spy with my little eye somthing begining with R.
The list is not exhaustive, whoops can't mention exhaust.
Actually that last one may not be allowed as it could be a coded message.

A complete ban on radio comm.s is the way to go. The current reliance upon it is effectively de-skilling the driver .
Similarly I would ban the car telemetry to the pit, restricting it to whatever data could be achieved when the car comes into the pit - a sort of OBD on steroids.

Slightly off topic.
Grand Prix - the Killer Years on BBC4 was on tonight and rerun at 1:30am tomorrow. Things were different 50 years ago

It's just a modern feedback to the driver, no different than the feeling they get through the steering and backside for pushing the car to it's limits.
Interesting they are showing a 60% chance of rain.
It amazes me that this race hasn't seen rain in the time it has been run, and I do wonder if it will be possible to drive the cars through the clouds of spray illuminated by the projector lighting system.

This is an absolutely stupid unenforceable rule.
Lewis has posted a 1.27.4. Nico you need to push hard in corners two and five and very hard in eight.
Push is a tenth, push hard is two tenths and very hard is three tenths.
Of course, this is just a simple code that is completely non codelike.
They'll have all sorts in place to circumvent it.
Bernie is just trying to up the show of 'the drivers' doing it all.
Whilst your at it, let's make the driver change his own wheels during the pit stops....
