Of course, this is just a simple code that is completely non codelike.

They'll have all sorts in place to circumvent it.

Bernie is just trying to up the show of 'the drivers' doing it all.

Whilst your at it, let's make the driver change his own wheels during the pit stops....
See the rules are already confusing because I thought they could relay that information about time still. They just can't say 'Lewis is braking 20m larger and using a higher gear' for example?

Ban all radio coms - simples.
I find the "safety" argument a little spurious - the drivers have managed for most of the last c50 years without it.

Ok - here's theory
This is Bernie's rouse to divert attention from the sometimes interesting on track action and put him back in the centre of things as ring master.

"....But his claims that all the drivers were supportive of the idea were undermined when some, including Williams's Felipe Massa, expressed vociferous opposition."

Felipe eh?

Who would have guessed it!

The fatality statistics for a lot of those years might suggest you can never be too safe.

Without safety or without radio?

Is that true? I'm going to use the internet to try to find out...

Pit to car radios were first used in 1984:

So for 31 years (including this one), and therefore they have been used for most of the last c50 years. Sorry Greenman.
