I agree, what kind of canopy is going to protect anyone slamming into the steel and concrete counterbalance weight of that tractor and lifting it into the air?. If the car had been left there and the same accident happened the outcome would have been much less serious.

Simple rule, if there is a need for a recovery vehicle on track then red flag the race till it's gone.

On current performance he'd be much better off sticking with Williams.

If they keep bringing out safety cars you just keep on bunching the field up which is irritating. Also don't think canopies are the answer.
When they call the safety car they put yellows out all round the track and the drivers have to drive to a delta that's shown on their steering wheels until they catch up the safety car. So it'd be very easy to have a half way measure where they bring out yellows for the whole track and the drivers all have to drive to that speed, except without putting the safety car out. They could do that for a lap or two whilst a car is being recovered without it ruining the race.

But if a car is off the track, waved yellows ought to be enough, certainly in the dry. Another easy change is different procedures if it's wet.

A good article on the possible changes here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/29573232

All seems very sensible.

Whatever they do, they need to avoid multiple safety cars bunching the field up and enclosed cockpits imo.

Both would ruin F1.

Yeah not sure I'd want to trade the third, maybe second fastest car for a fourth or fifth fastest car :-)

I can see Williams form continuing next season as they refine the design to produce more downforce whereas I doubt Ferrari or McLaren area going to solve their issues by then.

Maybe in 2016.

As for the circuit was just like watching Valencia.
