The Formula 1 Thread - 2015
The main thing I have ascertained from this testing so far is that Mercedes are going to boss the whole of next year again, and a few predictions ...
Kimi will boss Vettle
Fernando will throw his toys out at some stage, and JB will laugh at him, nonetheless I think Alonso will be faster than JB ... probably.
Ricciardo will finish 3rd behind Rosberg and Hamilton will win the championship again, but at a canter this time.

Are we inventing our own language now?
I know it's trendy to put down Vettel, but I think he'll get his motivation back and come back a lot stronger this year. And once again Kimi will be made to look a bit silly and it'll be his last year.

"Not mechanical failure", say McLaren following initial analysis of the telemetry data from Teflonso's car.
Twas the wind apparently ...

Only a few days until the third and final test, where we hopefully will see the cars turned up to 11 !
Mercedes showing some signs of what's to come, completing a lap only half a second off a Lotus on supersofts while the Merc was fitted with mediums.
I think the two Mercs will be leading the pack, but it will be real tight between 2nd, 3rd and 4th place in the constructors.
Renault will apparently introduce most of their allowed engine changes later in the season, which very well could close the gap between RB, Ferrari and Williams during the first part of the season - if not the whole year.

This is a really hard season to call. It's hard to know what is spin and what is true. A genius like Alonso crashing because of 'wind' is odd. It's like his neck pain from the seating position. The Mc boys stating they've only tested 50% of the plan so far. One thing is for sure, I'm not making the £50 bet this year!

Merc have got this season sewn up. Rosberg, if he wants to take the title this season, needs to win in Aus.
I honestly think Button will have the measure of Alonso this year.
Lotus look to be somewhat back in points scoring pace too.
Wind does have a big effect, but I don't recall ever hearing of an F1 driver using that as a claim for crashing (other than Sainz Jr using it too)
I'm sure if I resorted to Google I could find something, but it does seem odd.
