Ahead of race day with Mercedes one and two on the grid at Melbo, an interesting piece on the beeb by 'The Secret Aerodynamicist'.
Wonder if our tame composite guru knows who it is

I had thought about watching the race but in seeing the grid I probably won’t bother, discovered we still have the sky f1 channel, why, we don’t and never have subscribed to it.
Still maybe in years to come I’ll try it again as new young drivers come to the fore and it’s not a one horse race, so, what’s on at knockhill tomorrow, if the snow goes away and I’m fit after today’s rugby fest.

Boy this was much more of a race than foreseen.
Hamilton did for Vettel at 2/3rds point
Much better race than expected.

Watching the free practice for this weekends race in Baku (probably not the race though) the city looks very nice but not a fan of street circuits as this is.
£1/2 million damage to the Williams chassis says Claire W. after the manhole cover moment!

wasn't there someone nearly killed by a loose manhole cover some years back in Monaco. Might have been Barichello in the Ferrari IIRC,

I’m sure commentary crew thought that Monaco was the last time it happened but didn’t elaborate,

Is it just me but didn't the Spanish GP trophies look like they were done as an 'O' level woodwork project? The recession must still be biting hard in Spain!
