Ginetta G40

As I said earlier, I would expect it to be less of a production car than the Elise and need a lot of looking after.
The engine/drivetrain is basic and well proven. No FREDs and other complex electronics.
You couldn't be using it as a daily though, nor would you want to really.
As for comfort - the Westfield, in anything other than severe rain, is pretty good for 2-3hr journeys.

Off the top of my head (having used an Exige as a DD as well as an S)....
Noise - they will be noisy, sub 800kg means no soundproofing.
Ride on UK roads - sub 800kg also means it will be uncomfortable on bumpy, potholed and badly repaired roads. It'll also be twitchy and follow cambers etc.
Fit and finish - it's bound to leak water somewhere, have a draught/heat soak making it cold in winter and hot in summer.
If you can put up with that, you'll probably find you could use it as a DD. As said, it's primarily an alternative to the Elise, a road-going trackday car, some use them as DDs, most don't however.
It's a racing car that's been made road legal, not a mass produced shopping car.
Bits will fall off unless given constant attention, like a Caterham or a Westfield.
The factory 'tuning' option tells you what it's all about.
It's a toy. I love it.

Exactly; to be unfair, it's a Caterfield with some bath panels screwed on it to make a coupe.
It is NOT an MX-5/BRZ/FT-86/S2000; that is why it is so light. In race trim, the Toyobaru comes in at around 1100KG with 200BHP.
There is no magic bullet. It will be crude to drive on the pubic highway.

Given that a fair few of here use our S as a daily, what is it about the Ginetta that means that one couldn't use it as your daily in the same way, if so minded?

If my daily drive was something other than gently twisting, reasonably clear, cotswold A-road; I might feel different of course but I'm looking very seriously at the G40R as and when the S dies (long away may that day be..).
Certainly appreciate it wo't be for all or even most, but think you could do it and get a lot of fun out of doing it.

Actually, I'd like to find out a lot more about it.
Whereas the constant, inevitable stream of half-arsed supercars from sheds bores me shitless, something like the G40 strikes me as really interesting and they do have a history of good engineering.
