Yeah, true. Mine is the 2nd car has to be the family car. The M does a lot of that very well, big in the back, good access etc but average boot for a bigish car and harsh ride are drawbacks

The thing is great in this shat weather

Get a roof box - one of those nice black Thule things, for holidays etc.

I did a week in France with the nipper last year and we got it all in the E92 no bother.
A box would have been a luxury though, and saved filling the rear footwell etc with kiddy crap.

Well decided I'm going to get one. Business trip to Japan, long Easter weekend with family have delayed things but as soon as got a few hours free going to sign my life away. Feeling the need for something a little more obvious than black which I've had for the last couple of cars. Planning a red with black/red interior no sat nav which are about the only options worth talking about (auto spastic gearbox and stripes......don't make me laugh . )

Congratulations!

Sat Nav is a CWOM - you can ditch the Touch too Much & get a decent Kenwood SATNAV/DAB HU for around £800 if you are so inclined. Gerbil system is la-la-land.

The alcantara heated seats are costly, but lift it a bit.

Even 40bhp down it wasn't much slower than the s just because of the additional speed you can get with the flatter exit
Ah that'll be the A38 down from the roundie to the A50 (assuming you circulate clockwise ) or the A50 itself

Nice choice to have as a company car. Now the S becomes a garage queen, or will you be selling?

Nope, wrong plant
Back in north Wales. It's on Deeside industrial estate.
It's a preferential scheme not a company car so the s will be getting traded in as part of the funding. With recent wedding/honeymoon a new toy had to be reasonably close to paying for itself.

Loving the gif in the sig by the way. Never has such poor technique been so appealing

How the manufacturers are getting away with it I don't know (well I do, bury it in the costs with other options and pimp it like crazy)
One comes as standard of the wife's car at the level we have (cheapest option for an Avensis Wagon) and useful but I wouldn't pay extra for it.
Wondering how long till complete removal of head units and replacement of standard or semi-standard phone interfaces

That was sort of meant to be the idea with the Hachiroku originally, to save weight & cost. But the trouble is, the motor industry moves so slowly in relation to the phone one, the thing's redundant by the time it enters production. Hence they're only just moving to DAB units as standard, when analogue was meant to have been phased out by now.

Like everything aftermarket is suddenly twatpodphone compatible, just as Android-based systems start to race ahead.

That's why they should just rip out and let the phones do their own thing.
USB power point and Bluetooth interface and you can run music, hands free and sat nav with very little else needed
