Honda Civic Type R Test Driven!
Jonathan.. this is so annoying! I did that short post to make sure I could post because I haven't been able to for a couple of days. Having done the test I typed out a very comprehensive report on the test drive and when I tried to post it told me I wasn't logged in. It accepted my password but I lost all the post!
Well..... suffice it to say the car is very very quick with a tendency to torque steer as you woud expect.. no biggie. Identical gear knob and sixspeed pattern to the S2000. Brakes steering and handling are excellent. The acceleration was quite awesome. Quite a statement for an S2000 driver.
If I was looking for a more practical everyday bcar without sacrificing too much performance I would look no further. It's a bargain at

The lack of sun roof is one of the true Type-R things about it. Weakens the structure, so they don't allow it. Also means that they get to charge an exhorbitant amount for air con

Never thought about that!
The Recaro seats are excellent, very supportive. I was frankly staggered at how quick it is. At motorway cruising speeds I would also expect it to be very quiet.
Honda Rocks!!
The thing I missed most was the digital readout in the S2000 which is always there just below your line of vision. You have to physically look down at the speedo and tacho dials in the CTR and then you've got to relate the needles to the numbers. Makes you realise how inspired the display on the S2000 is!
Getting back in the S2000 was still great though... instantly sounded throatier and noiser. More of an open wound in comparison!

Cedric, are you thinking about changing
Cedric, are you thinking about changing
then I think we would definitely go for the CTR unless something else comes out in the meantime. My biggest trump card in getting another S2000 is that Jan loves the thing even more than I do... if that's possible!
She goes very arsey at the merest hint of changing
