Great! I'll be really interested to know what you think. I think the new mini looks great as well... I love the interior. Haven't driven one though.

The mini is a brilliant little car, the residuals will keep high for sometime yet (if you can get hold of one that is).
Well I turned up at Crown and was handed the keys and told to bring it back in half an hour !
I ignored the looks and got straight in. You feel high in the car, the seats are good but not so easy to get a good seating position, gearstick is in the right place and as slick as the S2k, clutch bitting point far too highand the steering wheel too slippery.
Unfortunately the local roads aren't brilliant so I used the dual carriageways with big roundabouts at each end.
It's very quick, plenty of torque steer, though nothing that will worry any of us. Easy to overtake in and easy to get up to illegal speeds and without the digital display you don't realise quick enough. The car had done 600 miles so I didn't worry about not going into Vtec and it didn't feel much slower than the S2k.
Handling is good but nothing special, it didn't want to lose grip but the steering does have that lack of feel that all the journalists claim about on the S2k.
Taking a look over the car when I got back its styling is an acquired taste. Red, the colour the test car was in, does nothing for it, silver would be my choice although the black in the brouchure looks good. Alloys are great, boot is huge and the engine compartment is a dream for access.
At the end of the day it's the Mini that is winning, it's just more fun. The chassis is brilliant, of course there isn't as much power but I'm sure on B roads it could keep up with the CTR. The Mini feels like a rear wheel drive while the CTR is definately front wheel drive. The real problem with the CTR is that it feels too big inside and when you are driving it. Having driven sports cars for so long, it's a bit like driving a greenhouse.
