Default Ice Warning

This seems a bit random on my CRV as it doesnt always come on when the temperature gets close to freezing. I'm assuming one of two things therefore:

1. there are other factors for the sensor to consider (humidity perhaps ?)
2. its not working properly

anyone with some knowledge of how these things work.? it would help settle a long standing arguement with Mrs Andy2000.

wish I had one of these on my S

i had this on my CiViC and have it on my CRZ and I agree the warning is haphazard

It seems to only come on when the temp dips below 3c. If it is already <3c when you start, it doesn't generate a warning, nor do you get a reminder once it has first triggered...

My BMW's have always warned you if during your journey the temperature drops to 3.0C or below.

It will also warn on startup if the temperature is between 0C and 3C.

If the temp is below 0, it assumes you know it's a bit cold out and to watch for ice.

My Golf always bongs when it's <4c at startup or when driving. Seems a bit odd that your warning shouldn't occur at the same point. Maybe it's a tricky temp sensor or something?
