I've missed something....
I may be one of the drivers you don't like on the motorway
I leave what I consider to be suitable stopping distance between me and the car in front (about 50m). To some people this (because they never look further than the car in front) looks like I'm hogging the lane. I'm not. When the road is clear ahead I put my foot down and accelerate
I also tend to drive faster in Lane 1 than Lane 3. If I'm in lane 1 it's because the road is clearer and hence safer to move faster.

Sorry, but I also think of the other as the overtaking lanes ... FOR OVERTAKING ONLY

I had a thought whilst I was waiting for Gordon Brown (texture like sun) to do his stuff this avo.... Why don't we start a "Keep Left" campaign group? Get the subject debated on the news, R5 live, the Today programme?
I had an interesting experience coming up the A23 onto the M23 today. When the traffic cleared after the hill and I had an open road, I realized the car behind was staying rather close. I was in a bit of a hurry, so was driving at 90-95, not something I normally do. This blonde lady driving a Vauxhall Corsa was tailgating me
Everytime there was space, I pulled into lane 2, to let her past. She must have been flat out because she didn't have the power to pass, just gained on me slightly. She almost made it alongside me a couple of times, but everytime we came to traffic, I just put my foot down, until I was a couple of car lengths ahead, indicated and pulled out.
I'm not sure what her problem was, she clearly could not drive any faster, so why did she need to be on my bumper

I find tailgating particularly annoying, not to mention scary, particularly at motorway speeds.

The people who tend to vegitate in the outside lane and try to climb into the boot(trunk) have a misunderstanding about the road fund license, they have not purchased the road, the right to use said section of road, right of way on said section of road, the right to park on said road, the right to abuse other road user's ect
BUT THE PRIVILIGE OF USING THE THE ROAD SYSTEM(SUCH AS IT IS) FOR ONE YEAR !
Just having a bit of a rant, old gits need to dothis occasionally you know
