Well, as an update to all this, the Saab failed it's MOT......

But only with a sticking piston in one of the rear calipers which will be fixed on Sunday when I get the time to take the caliper off and clean it - just out of interest I asked the local garage how much they'd charge to do it, they reckoned it would cost less than

Really? What year M5 was it, Crispy? Because any M Power BMW with the quad exhausts can't have a towbar because the back box gets in the way of the mounting points.

If it was a later M car, I bet the bloke had done a right lash-up job to get it fitted! You're right to be a bit nervy around someone like that, I wouldn't think the trailer would stay attached for long!
It was the previous to current model M5, with quad tail pipes as i remember... the sons were sitting in the back seat grinning as dad did over 100mph with the trailer on ...

I think you can fit a towbar - but it was a special BMW option involving a different rear bumper

I will look in the handbook

ps I chanced on an Audi that I thought might be fun today - only a V10 S6! Supposed to be a detuned Gallardo unit in it

I can report two things:

1) they are about the same pace as my old banger - by which I mean there is nothing in it
2) the front end with those lights is uber-chav

I think I was the more pleased of the two drivers

Bloody hell Crispy, that's insane!

Well, someone must be knocking out M Power towbars somewhere! Either that, or they're hacking their back boxes to pieces! I dread to think what that looks like...

EDIT: Just seen Gad's post

Lot of miles, but don't let that put you off

Go for a less "trendy" marque though if you want more for your money

I've never driven an Audi that has entertained me, they seem to go for a very numb understeery thing, but for under 5K maybe worth a giggle
