3.5K for a clutch.

How OTT.

Smacks to me like aircraft parts. A simple item costs 20 times more.

BMW are having a laugh.

What is the clutch made of? Probably if you break it down to its raw materials, it would equate to 60 pounds worth of metal.

Then its 3440 worth of shaping and packaging and fitting.

I'd imagine that's including fitting.

IIRC it's something like £1200 for a clutch on the S2000.

With BMW @ £150/hr I can see it getting pricey quickly. Plus (I think) it's the DCT job, so 2 clutches.

Razzele - the XFR was nice, in my opinion better than the XKR, just seemed like a more settle car to me and just as fast.

I was on a Jag experience day so drove both in anger side by side.

this is me in the XKR, it sounds awesome no debating that, but for me, now having driven the M6 I think the M cars have a bit more to offer. Excuse my laps, I blame lack of experience in a 500bhp car on a circuit I did not know. This was straight out of the blocks! I followed this session with the XFR and was far tidier and probably a few seconds a lap faster (not that you really get a clean run).

Jag was nice, the XF is a great car anyway so the R is just a fast great car. Would I take an M5 over it? probably. Although a Granturismo would be on my radar if you are looking at XFR.

Give me a 3rd pedal and a stick on any of these cars anyday! I struggle with auto box's or SMG's personally.

Picked up the M6 today... not much beats the sounds of the V10...even at idle it sounds like it means business...

Anyone tried an M5/6 and C63? I had the chance to drive the 63 recently. Performance and noise was mind-blowing, but there was something missing...

Thanks, but no thanks.

I'd like to, but frankly, the NSX's costs are slightly south of the M's, which I can just about cope with. Ferraris are for the properly wealthy.

I also have to rag the NSX within an inch of its life to even vaguely keep up, which suits me better than having to lift constantly.
