In all your wisdom............can mobile camera vans catch you with the back windows closed????

Ps I was driving a POLO TDI haha whoops...time to take a driving chill pill I think.

Hmm, I wouldn't have thought so as the glass will interfere with the signal.

My understanding was that the windows need to be open, like Ron says I'd think the window would interfere with the "freaking laserbeam"

not sure on the tech; laser i would expect to bound off the glass so doors would have to be open.

not sure about the radar gun though - i'd expect it to be reflected by the glass also.

however, im sure i've seen some with a hatch in the doors, so the door doesnt have to be physically open - see various pictures http://www.speedcam.co.uk/van.htm

How powerful is the TDi that you were driving? It may be that having the rear windows open creates too much drag for it to go fast enough to be troubled by a camera...

Cheers guys you've made me laugh which is a bonus.

Well the doors, windows and flaps were all closed so fingers crossed!!!!

POLO TDI = 75BHP!!!!!!!!!! haha, still goes fast enough to get a straight ban though haha.

Whereabouts was the Van? Embankment road?? Feckers caught me at 0630 on Outland road, mobile van parked under a fixed camera!!
