Default MR2?

Hi all, missus fancies an MR2 (frog shape). Anybody on here had any experience with them?

Mk3 roadster. Nice car. No leccy roof, very little storage space, very good handling. Bland engine though but am sure she will love it. Make sure you get leather and air con. Hardtop increases rigidity.

All manual roofs but easy to operate. Early ones pre 02 can have engine trouble. The cats can disintegrate and ceramic dust gets sucked back into the engine. Facelift 03 on models nicer lights front and rear. Like s2k most are silver. Special edition sable grey with red interior very nice but to similar to yours lol

I loved mine. The alloys are typical japanese corrosion fodder. Check the sump guard, easy to ground out and hit it when driven enthusiastically.

Not bad, mid engined IIRC circa 130BHP 1.8 non vvti-li lump and just over a ton in weight should be fun i think.

A lass who i used to work with had one, never had any problems with it and said it was fast - for me i dont count 0-60 7.7 seconds as fast but there you go.

Forgot to say only thing that went wrong in 30,000 miles was the o2 sensor. Brakes were fantastic.

If I recall, the engines can have a few issues once the mileage starts to get high(ish).
