Quite simply I'm of the opinion that Toyota should have installed the VVTLI (2ZZ) 189 BHP engine. I'm not necessarily comparing it to anything, it is just my opinion ( and of most of the MR2 community member's that I am a personal member of) that the standard engine isn't enough to make the car appeal to a car enthusiast.

I'll stick with my AW11 (Mk1) Mr2's anyway, the Mk3 does nothing for me.

Can't see the mr2 roadster ever cutting into the lotus sales even if the mr2 had the 190 engine. The mr2 would still be too heavy and too soft.
