BB, just enjoy your car for what it is. If someone in a hot hatch (or whatever) beats you in a race and it bothers you, all I can say is don't race (generally a pretty stupid thing to do on most public roads). If you feel that they would be "Putting one over on you" by beating you, then maybe its not about cars but some other hang up you may have. This is not meant as a dig.
totally!

I've only just got my 'S' and very happy with it thank you. It's a totally different car to any of the hot hatches........rwd as opposed to fwd, lots of seats, heavy, high centre of gravity. And it looks and handles like a sports car. End of.

You've obviously got some kind of hangup or inferiority complex in that you have to be faster/better than everyone else.

Interesting thing is, having posted a bit on this forum for a month or so now, I had presumed it was for like-minded S2k owners to swap ideas/stories. All it seems to be at the moment is a forum for discussing other cars and berating the S2k.

Frankly, I'm very pleased with mine and am getting fed up people sl&gging it off. It's a very capable niche car. If you don't like it.........leave!

BB, what is the 0-100 of the Corsa?

Until that little gem is known this thread is pointless.

I am also certain that within 12-18 months there will be a uber hatch that will whoop your little Elise...

0-60 MEANS NOTHING!!

0-100 and 0-120 are the true indicators of a fast car.

Oh my GOD! What a thread.....

Here is simple terms for those with the CHAV element.

Corsa = Ugly Bird with Massive b00bs!
S2000 = Attractive Girl with very slightly smaller b00bs!

Which would you take home and want a long term relationship with???!!

Case closed your honour! ;-)

But frankly - does any of this matter??????

At the end of the day, who will derive most pleasure from driving their car?

a) The chav in the hot hatch with the steering wheel wriggling in his hands as he struggles to put the power down and then leans around every corner, understeering and struggling on the exit;

OR

b) The S2000 driver who (should) have nothing to prove because he/she is sitting in a fairly rare and special car, with a beautiful sounding engine, great looks and capable handling.

We've all bought the S2000 at one stage or another because we liked it, it does the job it was bought for well. Does it matter what everyone else drives? Surely if you're happy with it, why should you care about doing 0-60 or 0-100? The former is hard to pull off in most places and the latter is illegal anywhere other than in Germany or on a track.

Mods: Aren't you inclined to lock this pointless p*ssing contest thread?
