[QUOTE=Bada Bing!,Jun 22 2006, 02:15 PM] Even without looking to the newer Focuses and Astra's, the hot Civic and Clio's have been too close for comfort for long enough, IMO.

In a word NO!

In the same way that I don't feel worried when someone in an elise pulls up next to me at the lights. When I find a car that better suits my needs I will buy it until then I am more than happy with my S.

[QUOTE=juansolo,Jun 23 2006, 09:35 AM] You have to sell a car because something completely different is faster?

You'll only be embarrassed if you've got something to prove and try to race.

Just carry on driving normally, problem solved! Cheaper than buying a faster car.

One Sunday morning a couple of years ago I and a friend went for a drive to compare the performance of the 111S and my S2000 (unmodded at the time).

I was expecting him to scamper away up to 60, but in fact I held onto his tail up to about 100, and then pulled on him.

However, we then came to a junction and noted a Sierra Cosworth with a drainpipe for an exhaust. The Cosworth did a u turn to hunt us down and absolutely, totally and utterly destroyed us on the stretch of dual carriageway* despite not catching up to us until we were at 80-100mph (due to the u turn) and accelerating as hard as we could. His car cost probably

Nope. Just don't want to be embarrassed by some clown in a 5 door hatchback, when I'm in a "sports car".
Why would you be embarrased?

So true!

whether or not Mr BB has got some problem, he certainly has a different mentality to many others joining this thread.

An entertaining (if rather pointless) thread nevertheless.
