That's not the reason, the main one is that I was bored.

Getting excited yet Gaz?
I think so!

Dealer called me today to confirm the details and the butterflies kicked in. This is the culmination of years worth of dreams, and the ambition to own one before I'm 30 is here - 3 and 3 days early. I didn't sleep a wink last night thinking about the engine and the turn in, and those lovely LED rear lights.

Sad I know.

Says it all really BB, You very sad, shallow man!

You've now gone and alienated all those S owners (and other forum readers) with kids - like me.

Give it up and log out!
Agreed, I am shallow.

But why should I log off though? Because my opinions differ from yours?

Sounds like fun Gaz. Hope you enjoy it.

Still happy with my S though, despite being overtaken by a Seat Leon today.

Do we get to see it on a Jockmeet?

[QUOTE=MarkB,Jun 23 2006, 04:35 PM] I work from home, I still have a beater.

Maybe I'm getting old, although the motorway drive to and from Bristol I did today wouldn't have been much fun in the Elise, neither would most of the day-to-day stuff - The Elise is saved for evenings and early mornings at weekend when the numptys are off the roads, and of course the track.

Still wouldn't be without the

I'm not sure why it bothers me, I suppose because I work hard and like nice things, that I want a car that reflects that fact. But for a 5 door hatchback which says "I've got 3 kids and f**ked up my life" to be able to keep up with the car I'm driving disturbs me.
Aah... so Gaz, you measure success with an image you would like to protray ? You seem to equate happiness with material pleasures .. no wonder you are constantly pissed off, and feeling depressed.

Can you not see the irony that the rest of the folks here are trying to tell you ? No one gives a hoot on what you drive on the road. You are overly self conscious and eager to project an image of success, all you end up doing is projecting your own insecurities on this forum.

I don't blame the rest of the board for taking the piss at you. Don't get me wrong, I'm not here to take a pot shot at you because after 7 pages, the message should be clear, but you are still not getting it.

I drive my ForFour on a daily basis whilst my S is in the garage or driven by my missus. I enjoy my Smart, ferrying my daughter to and fro nursery. Am I any less happy, is my life ####ed ? Do I care what other people drive or what they think of my choice of transportation ? WGAF !

You've got a lot of soul searching to do.

You will mate.

Not sure if there's still a meet on Sunday, and doubly not sure if taking a car I've had for one day is a good idea either! I may attend WBT5 though, as I get on well with the guys. Hope to meet you at some point.

I'm comfortable with my shallowness, Vince - no amount of therapy is going to fix it either!
