Why are you selling?
My head says that now is the time to sell.

If I sell now I'll have suffered

I've just been out in my S2000 for a quick blat, I suggest you all do the same and remind yourself how good a road car it really is.

Me too.

It's SOOOOOO much better as a 2nd car too.

Gaz, me cock-waving weegie twat of a mate,

Stop justifying your change in chariot. You sound like you're justifying it to yourself.

The Elise is a cracking car, no doubt. And I know it handles far better than the S2k. The first one was ahead of its time 13 years ago (a mates dad had one...****ing evil car compared to our Metros ) and the later ones are just superb.

And due to the weight, it's a bit swifter too.

But that's it.

Anything else is just personal prefernce. That goes for anyone slagging Gaz off for choosing the Lotus in fact (not for slagging him due to his apparent anti-S2kness that is as thats a valid poiint, hence my post).

We choose our cars because of our personalities.

However, my heart is telling me to keep it as the car is still mint and I still love driving it.

Decision decisions
We have been through this before havent we flower.

Got a nice Evo if you want something faster.

I very rarely contribute on threads like this but I've had a few beers and feel like throwing my 2p worth in!

I can't believe at times how sensitive to performance figures people are! I've come from a VXT (which i wrote off ) which was a lot quicker than an S. But then my brother drives an M Coupe and reastically on the road it's only over 80mph were you'll notice any performance difference (though the S feels more reassured in the twisties!)

But on the other hand I'm not expecting to blow away clio 182s, Civic type Rs, even new Corsa's - get real!

It's about enjoying yourself! Right now roof down action is a priority for me!

I could trade the S and my shopping list would be 996 C2, Tamora, T350, another VXT, elise 111R and not much else, no shopping trolley's there no matter how fast they go.

One thing I've noticed with performance cars is that it's great to have straight line speed but when the real fun begins on country roads all of a sudden the S (and the VXT) performance feels more that adequate to have a pretty exhilerating time.

What the facks gone on here then?

Bada has deserted the fold, then decided to attack and promises an exit on swap over. I never understood why people did that. Who did it with the Seat, or was it an Astra - I forget but we kept getting told how fast and cool the hatch was.

There's no need for BB to leave - just get the fackin fibre glass cart and stick around.

My view, after the S, tbh, anything 'normal' seems pretty shit. My golf is boring/wank. Its a box to shift me and stuff about in. My other car is a box to shift tackle about in.

Would I buy a sportscar? If I had the cash to use on one, I would. Would it be a 20-30k sportscar? Not a chance. The next car would have to be a used motor in the 40-50k bracket, ie something REAL. A real car, with real COSTLY bills and real fun, a service under 1k? fack that for a game of soldiers.

Thats what my 4 years with the S did for me. They made me smitten.

My next car has to be Italian, maybe German. Nothing else cuts it. Really, that 20-30k bracket, when bought for image, is the wannabe bracket. Those on mid/average wages scrambling about like rats in a big box - trying to get out, above the next identical rat. All on a silver platter for the marketers to manipulate.

If the reason to buy is for image, a little more that 25k needs to leave ones pocket OR just buy for driving pleasure and forget the one upmanship - you are just making the corps jobs, so so easy.

Graham, only reason I mentioned figures was because Gad had some delusions about me struggling to swat Astra's or Leon's. I know how fast it is and am more than happy.

As I will no doubt post in a few days once I get to know the car. I leave to pick it up in 8hrs and am like a kid on xmas eve.

Carper, I promised a sharp exit a while back as a few ex owners hang about here like a bad smell and I vowed not to be one of them. You have personality and people miss you when you're gone, so don't think I'm including you in that group.

Right off to bed for my final sleep before I pick up my baby. G'night!
