you tell us a Corsa will do 150

and any Imprevo will chase you to 60 and then keep pace

yet I remember your main driver being that you had to have a car that would seriously outpace these young pretenders

you patently haven't bought one

God help you if you run into an Astra VXR or a Cupra TDi
I'm happy with 150, as I genuinely can't use a car at any greater speed on the roads I have available. I got to 150 the other day in a race, and it was just too hairy. That was quite enough I think. Sure, to have more in reserve is good, but I reckon I would almost never need/use it.

There's no point trying to rationalise Impreza's or Evo's because they are so easy to tune they can theoretically keep up with almost anything this side of

I think this is here to stay. Speed + power shifts metal through the forecourts.

I can't say I'm particularly worried about what other cars are doing.

I own an S2000 because I like the car, not because I try to compete with people off the lights.

I own an S2000 because I enjoy driving it, even more driving with the roof down.

I own an S2000 because of the fact that the roof goes down in 6 seconds.

I own an S2000 because it's *different*.

I don't understand this whole Top Trumps thing (as somebody else called it) with the stats - the car's fast enough for me and the speeds of other cars, hot hatches or not, won't change that.

It's only a car though, with plusses and minuses like any other

Suits my needs just now, might not tomorrow. Doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things.

I have emotional songs in the key of life, to write, I can't be wasting my time worrying about how fast my car isn't
