Carper, I promised a sharp exit a while back as a few ex owners hang about here like a bad smell and I vowed not to be one of them. You have personality and people miss you when you're gone, so don't think I'm including you in that group.
don't leave - my missus will get angry.

What the facks gone on here then?
Bada has deserted the fold, then decided to attack and promises an exit on swap over. I never understood why people did that. Who did it with the Seat, or was it an Astra - I forget but we kept getting told how fast and cool the hatch was.
There's no need for BB to leave - just get the fackin fibre glass cart and stick around.
My view, after the S, tbh, anything 'normal' seems pretty shit. My golf is boring/wank. Its a box to shift me and stuff about in. My other car is a box to shift tackle about in.
Would I buy a sportscar? If I had the cash to use on one, I would. Would it be a 20-30k sportscar? Not a chance. The next car would have to be a used motor in the 40-50k bracket, ie something REAL. A real car, with real COSTLY bills and real fun, a service under 1k? fack that for a game of soldiers.
Thats what my 4 years with the S did for me. They made me smitten.
My next car has to be Italian, maybe German. Nothing else cuts it. Really, that 20-30k bracket, when bought for image, is the wannabe bracket. Those on mid/average wages scrambling about like rats in a big box - trying to get out, above the next identical rat. All on a silver platter for the marketers to manipulate.
If the reason to buy is for image, a little more that 25k needs to leave ones pocket OR just buy for driving pleasure and forget the one upmanship - you are just making the corps jobs, so so easy.

Spot on!
